Fun Fact: There are 18 million people currently living in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.
Not So Fun Fact: Most of these people live in poverty. Many rural families in Ethiopia have been known to send their children – mostly teenagers – to neighboring countries and large cities to be “domestic servants.”
These children are often trafficked as sex slaves and are never seen by their families again.
We take our team and partner with e3 Partners and embark on 10-14 day mission trips to numerous cities and villages in Ethiopia to visit with the people, to share the love of Christ, and to educate rural villagers about the sex trafficking industry. As these villagers are desperately poor, we also give Rhode Island Red Hens to each household we visit. These hens have amazing egg-laying capabilities and bring sustainability to the families.
